Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning patterns implemented at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Batam and SDIT Al-Farabi Batam in Batam City in an effort to shape character and develop student potential. The main focus of this study is to conduct a comparative study to understand how the different strategies, methods, and pedagogical approaches applied at various Islamic elementary schools influence the results of character formation (morals) and the optimization of student talents. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a comparative study design. Data were collected through in-depth observations, interviews with educators, and documentation of the curriculum and school activities at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Batam and SDIT Al-Farabi Batam City. The results show that there are variations in learning patterns ranging from the integration of religious values-based curriculum to project-based approaches that have different impacts on student independence and ethics. These findings reveal that schools that successfully form character optimally are schools that are able to synergize formal education with the habituation of Islamic values in everyday life. This research provides an important contribution for education practitioners and school administrators in designing more holistic and contextual learning strategies to produce a generation that has a balance between intellectual intelligence and character integrity.
