Basic education plays a crucial role in instilling values and knowledge, where the effectiveness of its management is highly dependent on the quality of school management. This article presents a comparative study of the implementation of management functions (Planning, Organizing, Actuating, Controlling (POAC)) in two leading Islamic elementary schools in Batam, namely SD Muhammadiyah Plus Batam and SDIT Al-Farabi Batam. This study uses a qualitative comparative descriptive approach with data collection through interviews, document studies, and indirect observations. This study aims to identify similarities and differences in school management practices and their implications for educational quality. The results of the study indicate that although both are based on Islamic values, there are unique characteristics in each POAC function that are influenced by the organizational affiliation and vision and mission of each school. These differences in POAC implementation reflect the uniqueness of the vision, mission, and organizational affiliation of the two schools in providing quality education. The findings of this study are expected to provide insights for the development of educational management in other Islamic schools.
