Improving Accounting Learning Outcomes on Petty Cash Fund Material for Accounting Students in Vocational High Schools Through Canva-Based Interactive Learning Media

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low mastery of petty cash fund material among grade XI AKL 2 SMK Jakarta students, where only 19.4% of students achieved the completion criteria in the initial observation. To overcome this problem, the Kurt Lewin Classroom Action Research (CAR) method was applied in two cycles that integrated interactive learning media based on PowerPoint using Canva. Research data from 36 students were collected through learning outcome tests and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired sample t-tests. The use of paired t-tests was carried out to strengthen the validity of the research results and prove that the increase in scores between cycles occurred due to the improvement of the actions given. The results of the study showed a significant increase, where classical completeness in Cycle I was 47.2% (average 75.3) increasing to 83.3% in Cycle II (average 85.3) after the improvement of actions in the form of ice breaking and a reward system. This significance was strengthened by the results of the difference test with a Sig. value. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, so it is concluded that PowerPoint-based interactive learning media using Canva is effective in creating a dynamic learning atmosphere and optimizing students' cognitive learning outcomes on petty cash fund material.
