Abstract

Recording of early childhood development assessments at TK Darunnajah is still done manually, so the data is not integrated in a unified system. The process of compiling 88 student report cards takes between 44 and 88 working days, and around five cases of data loss occur each academic year. This research aims to design a web-based information system for toddler development assessment using the waterfall method, covering the four assessment aspects of the Merdeka Curriculum, with targets of at least 81% for both functional feasibility testing (black-box testing) and user satisfaction. The study employs a Research and Development (R&D) model with a mixed-method approach. Qualitative methods (interviews and observation) were applied during the requirements analysis stage, while quantitative methods (black-box testing and questionnaires) were used during the evaluation stage. The system was developed through five waterfall phases (requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance) using the Laravel 12 framework and a MySQL database, involving a total sample of 35 respondents (the school principal, teachers, and parents). The results of black-box testing on 71 scenarios showed a 100% success rate, while the feasibility questionnaire (Cronbach's Alpha = 0.924) yielded an overall feasibility percentage of 84.73% (categorized as "Highly Feasible"), comprising 84.00% for usability, 84.38% for functionality, and 85.60% for user satisfaction. Based on these results, TK Darunnajah should promptly implement this system school-wide along with user training, and conduct further research to add predictive analytics features, automatic notifications, and a mobile application version.
