Design and Development of a Web-Based Student Attendance System Using the RAD Method (Case Study: SDN Pondok Jagung Tangerang)

Abstract

The student attendance system is an important part of school administration to record and monitor student attendance. At SDN Pondok Jagung Tangerang, the attendance process is still done manually, potentially causing recording errors, delays in recapitulation, and the risk of data loss. This study aims to design and build a Web-Based Student Attendance System using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method as a solution to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of attendance management. The RAD method was chosen because it has a fast development stage through the process of requirements planning, design, construction, and system implementation. The system was developed using the PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript programming languages with a MySQL database. The results show that the system built has features for login, dashboard, student data management, teacher data, class data, user management, and student attendance recapitulation. Testing of each module shows that all system functions run well according to user needs. The system is able to store data in an integrated manner, speed up the attendance recording process, facilitate data retrieval, and produce more accurate attendance reports compared to manual systems. The implementation of this system is expected to assist the school in improving the quality of attendance administration and support a more effective, efficient, and com-puterized data management process at SDN Pondok Jagung Tangerang.
