Fires in densely populated settlements in East Jakarta remain a threat to public safety. Kayu Putih Village recorded 49 fire incidents in 2022–2025, with a high frequency in RW 11. This study aimed to identify the factors related to community behavior toward fire incidents in RW 11, Kayu Putih Village, East Jakarta. A quantitative observational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach was used in August 2026. A total of 90 respondents were proportionally selected from 12 neighborhood units (RT) using stratified random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using the Chi-Square test (α = 0.05). Most respondents (65.6%) showed compliant behavior. Attitude (p = 0.002; OR = 4.255) and individual skills (p < 0.001; OR = 9.574) were significantly related to community behavior, whereas knowledge (p = 0.598), facilities and infrastructure (p = 0.631), and community leader support (p = 0.211) were not. Regular fire training and simulations are recommended to improve community skills, along with stronger fire prevention education and coordination by RT/RW and community leaders.
