The Influence Of Education Through Animated Video Media On Pregnant Women's Knowledge And Attitudes About Triple Elimination Screening (HIV, Syphilis, And Hepatitis B) At The Gerungang Public Health Center

Triple Elimination screening is a public health program designed to prevent the transmission of HIV, syphilis, and hepatitis B from pregnant women to their babies. According to data from the Gerunggang Community Health Center in Pangkal Pinang, the coverage rate for Triple Elimination screening among pregnant women decreased from 43.8% (2023) to 41.7% (2024), while the rate of reactive test results increased from 7% to 9%. This study aimed to determine the effect of education via animated video on the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women regarding triple elimination screening in the Gerunggang Community Health Center’s service area in 2026, using a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group, pretest-posttest design with 19 respondents in the intervention group and 19 in the control group. Univariate analysis results showed that before the education program, nearly all pregnant women (84.2%) in the intervention group had insufficient knowledge and the majority (63.2%) held negative attitudes, whereas after the education program, nearly all (89.5%) had good knowledge and nearly all (94.7%) held positive attitudes, while in the control group, the changes observed were relatively minor. The results of the Wilcoxon test in the intervention group showed p=0.001 for knowledge and p=0.001 for attitudes, while the Mann-Whitney posttest showed p=0.001 for knowledge and p=0.000 for attitudes, indicating significant differences between the two groups. It was concluded that education through animated videos has a significant impact on the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women therefore, it is recommended that the Gerunggang Community Health Center incorporate this medium as a routine health promotion strategy in its antenatal care (ANC) services.
