Hypertension is one of the leading causes of premature mortality worldwide and remains a major public health problem in Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the determinants associated with health-seeking behavior among patients with hypertension at Kelapa Gading Community Health Center, North Jakarta. A quantitative study with a cross-sectional design was conducted. The dependent variable was help-seeking behavior, while the independent variables included respondents' characteristics (age, sex, educational level, and employment status), perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, perceived barriers, the health service system, and social support. A total of 110 respondents were selected using an accidental sampling technique. The results showed that health-seeking behavior was influenced by several factors. Multiple logistic regression analysis identified perceived severity as the strongest determinant (OR = 7.05; p < 0.001), followed by educational level (OR = 4.77; p = 0.002). Respondents with a high perceived severity of hypertension were approximately seven times more likely to seek appropriate healthcare services than those with a low perceived severity. The study recommends strengthening health education, optimizing healthcare services, and enhancing family support to improve health-seeking behavior among patients with hypertension.
