The Influence of Transportation Management and Distribution Scheduling on Delivery Time via Operational Efficiency at PT XYZ

The growth of e-commerce has increased logistics complexity and created greater demands for timely and reliable delivery. These conditions require logistics companies to improve transportation management, distribution scheduling, and operational efficiency. This study aims to examine the effects of transportation management and distribution scheduling on delivery time through operational efficiency at PT XYZ. This study employed a quantitative approach using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that transportation management has a positive and significant effect on operational efficiency (β = 0.306; p = 0.000), while distribution scheduling also has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.517; p = 0.000). Operational efficiency positively and significantly affects delivery time (β = 0.554; p = 0.000). Transportation management has no significant direct effect on delivery time (β = -0.037; p = 0.674), whereas distribution scheduling has a positive and significant effect (β = 0.174; p = 0.036). The indirect effects of transportation management and distribution scheduling through operational efficiency are significant, with coefficients of 0.170 and 0.287, respectively (p = 0.000). The study concludes that operational efficiency plays an important intervening role in improving delivery time. Therefore, PT XYZ needs to strengthen transportation management and distribution scheduling to optimize operational resources and improve overall delivery performance in a sustainable manner.
