Abstract

In general, learning in PAUD for aspects of physical or motor development is more focused on gross motor development, while gross motor skills are less concerned. In developing aspects of children's gross motoric physical development, support from parents and educators is needed, but in reality this area has received less attention from teachers in the movement of health and freshness (physical and mental) in children. This study aims to improve the gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years through rhythmic gymnastics at PAUD Wijaya Kusuma Sukmajaya Depok. The research method used is action research with Kemmis and Mc. Taggart models with stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The research was carried out in 2 cycles and each cycle consisted of 2 meetings. The subjects of this study were all students of class B in the second semester of the Wijaya Kusuma PAUD Post. The object of research is the improvement of gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the increase in gross motor skills of children in group B in PAUD Wijaya Kusuma with the number of research subjects as many as 13 children got an average score of 47.58%, in the first cycle it increased to 70.63% and in the second cycle increased to 81.44%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that rhythmic gymnastics can improve gross motor skills of children aged 5-6 years at PAUD Wijaya Kusuma, Depok.
