Abstract

The implementation of pre- and post-conferences in the Outpatient Unit has not been conducted in a structured manner and is not yet supported by written guidelines, indicating the need to strengthen nursing team communication and coordination. This community service activity aimed to optimize the implementation of pre- and post-conferences through the POSAC management functions (Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Actuating, and Controlling) and to evaluate changes in knowledge, attitudes, and implementation. The activity was conducted from August 19 to September 10, 2026, using a one-group pretest-posttest design without a comparison group. The primary target group consisted of 12 outpatient nurses who participated in guideline development, socialization, roleplay, and face-to-face implementation of pre- and post-conferences. Changes in knowledge and attitudes were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, while implementation was assessed using an observation checklist. The results showed differences in knowledge scores (Z = −2.140; p = 0.032) and attitude scores (Z = −2.359; p = 0.018) in the primary group. Four observation sessions showed that all 40 items were implemented according to the guidelines (100%). The model was also socialized to 20 nurses from nursing units other than the Outpatient Unit, with changes observed in knowledge scores (Z = −2.886; p = 0.004) and attitude scores (Z = −3.595; p < 0.001). The activity produced implementation guidelines and strengthened nursing team communication capacity. Sustainability requires regular supervision and evaluation to maintain implementation according to the characteristics of each unit. The activity also provides a basis for the sustainable development of conference implementation in nursing units.
