Abstract

Tegalan Hamlet, Sidomoyo Village, Sleman Regency, is an area at risk of disasters, particularly hydrometeorological disasters that may affect community health. This condition requires community preparedness and a health service system capable of providing rapid, appropriate, coordinated, and resource-based initial responses. The problems identified include suboptimal preparedness among village officials and health cadres in responding to disasters, as well as the absence of an organized village health service system for emergency situations. This community service program aimed to strengthen the health services of the Disaster-Resilient Village through the empowerment of village officials and health cadres. The methods included Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), education on triage and disaster emergencies, emergency response and medical emergency training, development of Disaster Preparedness Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), establishment of health cadre service flow, development of printed and digital health education media, disaster simulation, and evaluation. The results demonstrated improved knowledge and skills among health cadres and village officials in disaster preparedness and response. The outputs included Disaster Preparedness SOPs, health cadre service flow, posters, leaflets, educational videos, training materials, and disaster simulations. The program strengthened coordination among health cadres, village officials, community leaders, and health service providers, supporting the development of a responsive, self-reliant, and sustainable Disaster-Resilient Village health service system.
