Motor Vehicle Insurance Awareness Session for Residents of RT 02 RW 01, Pondok Benda Urban Village, Pamulang District, South Tangerang City

Abstract

This Community Service (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat—PkM) activity was motivated by the limited understanding of residents regarding the scope of motor vehicle insurance protection, particularly coverage, exclusions, and clauses contained in the Indonesian Standard Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy (Polis Standar Asuransi Kendaraan Bermotor Indonesia—PSAKBI). This activity aimed to improve residents’ understanding of the basic concepts of motor vehicle insurance and the protection provisions under PSAKBI. The activity was conducted in RT 02 RW 01, Pondok Benda Subdistrict, Pamulang District, South Tangerang City, involving 20 residents as participants. The implementation method used an educational and participatory approach through material presentation, socialization of coverage and exclusions, case study discussions, and interactive discussions. The results showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of the basic concepts of motor vehicle insurance, differences between covered and excluded risks, and the role of policy clauses in determining claim eligibility. This activity indicates that practical and interactive education can support the improvement of public insurance literacy. Therefore, similar educational activities should be carried out continuously to increase public awareness of motor vehicle risk protection.
