Training on Creating Marketplace and Social Media Accounts to Support Digital Marketing and E-Commerce for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises

Abstract

The development of digital technology has encouraged Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt to utilizing digital platforms as a marketing tool. However, many MSMEs at the village level still have limited digital literacy, particularly in the use of marketplaces and social media. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of MSMEs in utilizing marketplaces and social media as digital marketing tools. The activity was carried out in Kademangan Village, Cianjur, using a participatory method through the stages of preparation, training, mentoring, evaluation, and reporting. The results of the activity showed that before the training, most participants were still using conventional marketing methods and did not have marketplace accounts. After participating in the training, all participants successfully created marketplace and social media accounts and were able to manage them independently. In addition, there was an increase in participants' understanding of digital marketing concepts, as evidenced by the results of the pre- and post-tests. The mentoring also had a positive impact on participants' abilities to upload products, create descriptions, and conduct digital promotions. Despite several obstacles such as limited devices and internet access, this activity overall was able to improve the digital literacy of MSMEs. Thus, this training can be a solution to support the digital transformation of MSMEs at the village level and increase business competitiveness in the e-commerce era.
