Abstract

The development of digital technology has opened up opportunities to improve environmental security at the village level through the implementation of the concept of smart environmental security. Security issues such as crime, lack of environmental monitoring, and limitations of conventional reporting systems are challenges that need to be addressed effectively and sustainably. Therefore, this activity aims to implement a technology-based environmental security system utilizing Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to support community empowerment in maintaining environmental security. The implementation method is carried out through a participatory approach that involves the community at every stage, from needs identification and device installation to training on system use. CCTV technology is used for real-time visual monitoring, while IoT is utilized to support the notification system and network-based data management. The results of the activity show that the implementation of this system can increase the effectiveness of environmental monitoring and provide a sense of security for the community. In addition, the community becomes more active in participating in maintaining security through the use of easily accessible technology. However, there are still obstacles such as limited network infrastructure and community technological literacy. Thus, the implementation of smart environmental security based on CCTV and IoT has great potential to improve environmental security at the village level. Continuous support from various parties is needed to ensure the sustainability and optimization of the implemented system.
