Abstract

Breast milk (ASI) is the primary nutrient for infant growth and development. Breast milk is every child's right to achieve optimal growth and development. Often, babies do not receive exclusive breastfeeding for various reasons, ranging from a lack of parental knowledge, lack of family support, environmental influences, and so on. Failure to breastfeed increases the risk of various health and nutritional problems in infants and toddlers. Therefore, it is important for mothers and their entire support system to understand the importance of successful exclusive breastfeeding and continuing breastfeeding until the age of 2 years. Cadres are part of the system that plays a crucial role in supporting mothers in providing exclusive breastfeeding. Therefore, education is needed to increase cadres' knowledge about the importance of breastfeeding and the importance of supporting mothers in successfully providing exclusive breastfeeding. The material provided in the educational activities included the benefits of breast milk, supporting factors for breastfeeding, and methods that can be used to ensure the success of exclusive breastfeeding. The results of the activity showed that 48 cadres from 22 integrated health posts (Posyandu) in Cipenjo Village attended the Community Service Program (PKM) activities. After receiving education about breastfeeding, there was an average increase in knowledge scores of 20% compared to before the education. There needs to be continuous follow-up so that the cadres' knowledge about good breastfeeding can be passed on to the community, especially breastfeeding mothers, so that it forms a mindset that will have a real impact on behavior and increasing the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding.
