Abstract

Occupational Safety and Health (K3) is an important aspect in the world of work to minimize the risk of accidents and work-related diseases. Public Infrastructure and Facilities Handling Officers (PPSU) as operational personnel who are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of public facilities face various risks in their work environment. This community service program aims to increase PPSU officers' understanding of controlling the risk of work accidents and work-related diseases through outreach and training. The methods used in this activity include outreach, technical training and management assistance to increase understanding and implementation of K3 in the workplace. Activities were carried out in three stages, namely (1) outreach regarding K3 and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), (2) technical training on how to identify work hazards, and (3) evaluation of program effectiveness through pre-test and post-test. The evaluation results show an increase in PPSU officers' understanding of K3 by up to 40%, as well as an increase in compliance in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by 85%. This program proves that K3 education can have a positive impact on the work safety of PPSU officers. It is hoped that the relevant government parties who handle PPSU workers will be able to support the implementation of routine training and the provision of more adequate PPE.
